Sometimes ya take two steps backward to move one step forward. Often I delete sections of work when the vision isn't clear. I'm focusing on getting this headset right & I want to blend together a few elements from current & past iconic characters/trends. I'm going for a hybrid visor that includes visual ques from Cyclops of X-Men, Geordi La Forge of Startrek & as an afterthought to sorta modernize the shape I decided to go with a subtle Apple Vision outline. Just roughing it in this morning, I think we are on the right track.

Evening Beer, Sketching from Life

Yesterday was a strange day. I woke up early & somehow I was still late getting out the door. Took a cab & of course got stuck in road construction. Two employees are out sick at work. Accidently sprayed cleaner/aerosol lube over my adult sippy cup & of course it was open... Despite this absolute failure to launch, I experienced (and still am experiencing) a persistent sense of tranquility.

Normally a start like this would cripple me. I'd just want to go home & curl up under a pile of blankets with my clothes on. I'd probably put on some Netflix and fall asleep early to the warm embrace of my televisions soft glow. It doesn't take much really to throw off my day lol. I'm a kinda sensitive guy.

But. After work, with no heavy lifting I took myself outside. Packed up my sketchbook & journal, and off I went to embrace the public. I had no plans to stop at the Corner but it felt right. I had no plans to get a drink or write in my journal but it felt right. No plans to sketch but it felt right. Serendipity struck hard & I'm still feeling the blow.

I'm up, I feel good, ready to face the day. And for some reason I can't explain, tranquility is still blessing my mind, body & soul. I'm not gonna overthink it, let's just ride the wave.

Day 32: The day is upon us! I've decided to call it. This piece is complete. I took this photo at a slightly different angle to sorta showcase the effects of my ink choices. Its hard to capture the in person impact of metallic & neon colors. I'm gonna try to get out to the art shop this evening & pick up some materials for upgrading the frame this piece will fit into. I've got an idea or two for sprucing up some recycled frames gifted to me by a neighbor.

Day 31: Am I done? Is it finished? I'm never sure lol. I've been looking this piece over & over, then over a little more. I may even be a little sad that its coming to an end.

Planning to do a live stream this evening, will probably chat over my thoughts & feelings about the final outcome. I may try to get this ready for prints or start something new.

I've been seeing a new piece in my mind, I'm eager to start trying out the lines. And to be honest, starting over is easier than following through :P I don't know why but I create these works, hang them up on the wall & look them over til I'm bored, Sometimes it takes days, months, some have been up on the wall for years. When I'm done, they go away into the dark. Its a shame, I'd like them to find good homes. Places where they will be cherished & protected. They all contain a bit of my life force, time frozen in the ink. Future, present & past, after the final line.
